Reaching Out
September 6, 2009Some of my relatives and close friends are geographically scattered.
My other relatives used to be located in the North while we are located in the South, so we seldom see each other, just texting important messages or having a get together occasionally. It was rather ironic that I was with my friends often more than my relatives.
Now, they are miles away from here and we are both surprised how often we keep in touch, updating each other of our life activities. Its amazing how technology can bring people closer together so that they can communicate and collaborate. Realizing that you have lost touch with all, or even one of your friends, is quite unsettling.
I can let them know that although I can’t be there in person, I am thinking of them and care about what is happening in their lives. I soon find that they are picking up on the pattern, and they returning the gesture just as often.
It is just a matter of committing a small portion of my life to it.
