I had a chance to watch target shooting (or gun shooting…or whatever it is called..). I watched shooting before but I was not giving my full attention on the details. Yesterday was different. It was a unique experience, I noted every details. Watcher like me wont be allowed to enter the shooting room without protective eyeglasses and ear protection as being imposed with every shooting area. So there I was, watching the shooter prepared the gun, reloading the bullets and then loading new bullets to the cartridge. All ready…target has been set for 5 meters…shooter positioned…then BANG! The noise was less than I imagined, but it was still a fairly sharp crack of sound that made me flinch even with ear protection, so I imagine firing a gun without ear protection would definitely leave you with ringing ears. I saw empty bullets flying in front of me…I stood up about 3 meters parallel from the shooter and watched the target. (I heard stories that empty bullets just fired could burn your skin). After hearing the first shot, I thought “Hey, that wasn’t so bad!” Then BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!….and I really thought the shooter was good to just targeting the 5 meters range. 10 meters….then shots again and I thought I was right, the shooter has good a good eye for targetting. Reload…shots….cartridges emptied. No bullets wasted….gun back to case.. and its finished.
I do not have a “commando complex” which would make me mistakenly known serving the military but I do understand some people of their desire to carry a gun because we live in a real world in which we recognize the dangers. And we must keep in mind that in a real life self defense encounter, this is just where you learn to shoot the gun effectively and hit a target.
