Why does my bed seem more comfy in the morning ?

What a week it was!!!! After a week full of meetings and deadlines, today we ended our week in a settlement house.

Oh, I loved weekend, it is always most comforting to just lie back in bed and have my Zs till noon especially on weekend when you dont have to worry of anything. But I had to pull myself up for the day’s activity. I had to activate again my social responsibility awareness. Anyway, there is another day to oversleep.

It was not my first time I have ever visited an institution, but everytime I go to that kind of place, I am always moved. We threw a simple party to the childrens ages 2 to 7 years old. We booked the nearby Jollibee to deliver the some food and brought the masscot. We also rented a face painter  (we also enjoyed painting with our face and arms) and prepared a movie for them to watch. It was surprising that they also prepared some entertainment for us.

When we arrived at the settlement house, I personally experienced again the joy of brightening other peoples lives, even for a short moment of touching their lives. And remind myself again not to complain about little things when some people cannot get those little things. It shows how it is important not to take things for granted. It shows us we are more privileged than we think.

The children were so excited with the games, prices and give aways. It felt like Christmas.  We knew that what we share to them was so little compared to what they really need.  It was  also comforting  to realized that we gave something to these children without a doubt. And the most satisfying  thing for us after few hours of loving them was the look in their eyes, the smiles on their faces,  their appreciations and the sad goodbyes which were priceless. We will just continue praying for  both the children and the parents, knowing that was all we could do.

It was great time spending a few hours of our weekend.
