August 8, 2011 Have you thought much about the limits of your friendships? What would you not do with or for your friends, no matter what? Are there things you would rather not do but would if a close friend asked? Would you do some things for certain friends, but not for others?
Without friends, our pathetic lives would not be worth living. Others may even climb the highest mountain, swim the deepest sea, walk across the hottest desert, just to prove our friendships.
Well, there much more meaning to friendship than hanging out with them and sharing tsismis. We all want to have true friends, but the quality of our friends depend on us. If you want to have true friends, you should be a true friend yourself. By being a true friend, people will love to be around you and will feel your concern for their betterment and not for criticism. We know that it’s
difficult to change other people, but we can always change ourselves and let others understand that changes will do them good. We dont have to change ourselves to get the approval of the other person or pretend to be someone we are not. We dont have to do anything fancy or out the ordinary to win their friendship and neither do we…we can just be ourselves. We can talk and share at a heart level but keep our own separate selves. It doesnt matter whether they are the same sex, age or anything else, it doesnt matter. It is just built on a mutual respect and a bond of caring, respect and mutual sharing. When you think about it, you are in a company of good people and will realize the value of friendships. It also got me thinking…someone asked me this morning if I have a company of my friends whenever I travel and I said “Yes of course, you are not yet my friend if we did not experience a journey together. We have many journeys in life and there are endless roads to travel”.
